Allison Lu Wang
Allison Lu Wang crafts immersive landscapes that reflect both her inner experiences and the world around her. Her process starts with analog collages, using personal photos, magazine cutouts, and painted elements, which are then digitized and transformed. Drawing inspiration from Los Angeles streetscapes, movies, and video games, she creates dreamlike scenes where space and time blur, echoing the fluid nature of memory.
Her use of color and flora intensified after moving to Los Angeles, blending its cinematic landmarks with the natural environment. This blend of print, paint, and fabric reflects her fashion design background, showcasing a keen ability to balance diverse materials. Wang holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and has recently exhibited her work at Lowell Ryan Projects, Maison Lune, and MEY in Los Angeles.
